You don’t need to provide documentation to submit your account, however after you submit, it would be prudent to start putting your documentation together. If your debtor disputes we will have 30 days to provide it. If we do not provide the mandated documentation within the 30 days required by law your account will be closed.

Federal Regulations* state that if a consumer disputes a debt, collections must cease until the debt has been verified. Collection agencies are required to provide proof of the debt from the original creditor in writing within 30 days of the dispute. This information includes:

An itemization of the charges that comprise the debt

A copy of any document signed by the debtor to verify the debt was incurred

A copy of the last statement for the debt

If you don’t have anything signed by the debtor please provide itemized invoices and/or statements with dates of service and as much information as you have.
